Carola has been linked with a return to the Eurovision Song Contest in today's edition of Swedish newspaper, Aftonbladet. This time, however, it seems that it could be for Norway, all but ending speculation about an appearance at Melodifestivalen with Andreas Johnson to sing a duet for 2008. esctoday.com contacted Norwegian broadcaster, NRK to see if this is a possibility.

Therehas been much talk that she and Andreas Johnson will be one of the wild cards for Melodifestivalen. However, as previously reported, esctoday.com believes that this is unlikely for 2008. Today she told Aftonbladet "Right now there is so much else to do…It not only about the right song, it’s also the circus around Melodifestivalen. It takes a lot of time and the media attention is hard."

Carola also mentions that if she will be in Melodfestivalen, it will not be as a solo artist, it will be as a duet partner with Andreas Johnson: "Me and Andreas write many songs, he has a great voice. I haven’t closed any doors, but nothing is decided yet". In a change of focus, Carola says "I have even thought to compete for another country, because the way media treats it. Some year Iwould like tocompete for Norway".

esctoday.com contacted the Norways broadcaster, NRK, to hear what they have to say about the a participation from Carola. We were told "We are flattered that Carola would consider competing for Norway, and we would definitely consider it should we get a direct request. Our ultimate goal is to make the Norwegian pre selection into a national affair again, eliminating foreign contributors altogether, but Carola is cherished by many Norwegians and through her previous marriage to a Norwegian she almost qualifies as Norwegian".
