The day has come for Icelanders to select the first 3 entries that will compete in the Söngvakeppnin 2015 grand final in 14 February. Six acts will compete in the first Semi-final taking place tonight in Reykjavik, capital city of Iceland.
Few days ago, RUV, the Icelandic national broadcaster revealed all the participating acts in this year’s Söngvakeppnin. Fresh names along with well known artists from the past were included in the 12 competing acts. Tonight, the first 6 acts will compete in the first semi-final. 3 lucky artists will proceed to the final, scheduled to take place in two weeks time.

During the first semi-final of Söngvakeppnin, six acts will compete for 3 places in the final. These are:

In 2014 Iceland selected Pollapönk via a national selection to fly the Icelandic flag at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen. The Icelandic group achieved a 15th placing in the final with their entry No prejudice. Who will be this year’s representative? We will find out soon.
