Azi Jegbefume won the first vote of You're a star, the Irish selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2003. She will be one of the twelve contestants in the final. Nine finalists will be chosen by votes, three will get a wild card.

Azi Jegbefume lives in Dublin and is 18 years old. She won the first vote with the performance of Killing me softly, a hit song from the Fugees. She studies psychologie, her mum is her portable hair-dresser and at the RTÉ website they say about her: “Azi is no stranger to competition as she got to the last four in the presenter competition, 'Be the Face of MTV'. She also entered Fame Academy and got to the last 32 but the judges' felt she was unable to perform live. Azi is still angry and now more determined then ever to prove them wrong”.

The winner of the You're a star final will represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 in Riga.
