Last weekend, Cypriot superstar and three time Eurovision participant Anna Vissi celebrated 40 years in the music industry with a special concert called Vissifever at the Jackie O’ Beach in Mykonos, Greece. Fans of the Cypriot legend were also able to enjoy special guest performances by Demy, 2008 Greek participant Kalimora. 2014 Greek representative Freaky Fortune feat. RiskyKidd and 2014 Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst.

Anna arrived by plane for the occasion two days before on July 24th.

Between then and the live show, she spent her time rehearsing while Mykonos got prepared for the party.

On Saturday the show was a huge success. Below are some pictures that were taken by the official Anna Vissi fan club Fannatics.

Fannatics were also able to record this special video of both Anna and Conchita Wurst singing Everything.

Even Ms Wurst was looking forward to her performance with Anna and posted this on her Facebook page.

Although she is not a winner of Europe’s Favourite TV Show, Anna Vissi is certainly a recognised name in the world of Eurovision. In total she has competed three times, twice for Greece and once for Cyprus. Her first appearance for Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest was with the band Epikouri in 1980. The song was called Autostop and finished 13th out of 19 with 30 points.

After a disappointing result, Anna entered the contest again in 1982 but this time for her native Cyprus. The entry Mono I Agapi was composed by Vissi and achieved 5th with 85 points. This and along with 1997 and 2004 remain Cyprus best results at Eurovision.

The third and most recent attempt was in Athens in 2006. As the host nation, Anna was already in the final when she sang for Greece with the song Everything. The Greek song finished 9th with 128 points. At that time, being placed in the top 10 meant that the county would automatically qualify to the grand final the following year. This meant that Anna’s 9th place secured Greece a spot in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest final in Helsinki.

On behalf of the Esctoday.com team and readers we would like to congratulate Anna on her achievement.
