Conchita Wurst, the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, has taken to the catwalk to model some of Jean-Paul Gualtier’s dresses at a show in Paris. The openly Eurovision fan fashion designer stated that he was delighter after Conchita’s victory.

The Austrian singer was spotted with the French fashion designer at the Vienna Life Ball last month, and this week she walked the catwalk in one of his dresses at his Haute Couture show in the French capital.

Talking to The Independent after the show, Gaultier explained why he asked her to be involved in the show,

I met Conchita two years ago when she came to one of my couture shows, I loved her look and when I heard that she will represent Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest, I was delighted. When she won I was crazy with joy.

I always say that beauty is difference and Conchita has shown us all that she is unstoppable.

This is the latest event around Europe Conchita has attended in her two months since winning the contest, having appeared on numerous TV shows, pride events and fashion events across the continent.

Her victory in May with Rise like a phoenix was Austria’s second Eurovision Song Contest win. The first and only other triumph came in 1966 after Udo Jurgens won the 11th edition of the contest with Merci, chéri.
