Today at the Estonian National Broadcasting Council the budget of the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 was discussed. It appeared that ETV got a profit of about 6 million Estonian kroons which is ~ 384 000.

The main reason of it was because the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) gave ETV 600 000 more money then it was planned. But that also included the broadcasting costs, so that's the reason why the sum increased. Also ETV got more money for the rental of the commentators' rooms, the production, the accomodation and transportation.

But the profits from the ticket sales were lower than expected (only 16,9 million kroons, planned was 25 millions) also the organising of the ESC was more expensive. More money was spent on the postcards, making of the stage and for the artists.

The budget of Eurovision Song Contest 2002 was 125,4 million Estonian kroons (~8 million), ETV got 131,2 million kroons ( 8.384.000)
