Pollapönk were founded in 2006 by guitarists Haraldur Freyr Gislason and Heidar Orn Kristjansson. Their first album was released as a part of their final work in college and submitted it along with a final paper; as result the album was a major hit in Iceland.

In 2007 drummer Arnar Thor Gislason – who is Haraldur‘s brother – and bassplayer Gudni Finnsson joined Pollapönk. Since then, they have recorded two albums and played countless gigs for children and adults all over Iceland.

Earlier this year, Pollapönk won the Icelandic selection for Eurovision with Enga fordóma. The group will sing No prejudice, the English language version, in Copenhagen. Despite their humour, Pollapönk’s desire is clear: to eliminate bullying and prejudice through music. Eurovision itself is uniquely diverse, and the band is proud to have the opportunity to share their message with all of Europe, and the world.
