The Dansk Melodi Grand Prix CD including all 16 entries for the Danish 2007 selection was released 6th of February, but has already been awarded with a gold CD. Signed by all the contestants this has just been sold on the leading Danish auction site Lauritz.com for 17,000dkr (estimated 2,350 euros).

The Danish selection this year was among the strongest in many years and so far the record sales show this with 20,000 CD's sold inless thantwo weeks. The 20,000 which is equal to a gold record in Denmark was what the 2006 Danish final CD sold in total last year.

The gold CD sold on auction is a part of an AIDS campaign in Denmark that kicked off by a big TV show last Saturday evening. The TV show which featured many well-known names in Denmark performing for free, launched an appeal for the Danes to call a certain number to donate money in order to help the victims of AIDS in Africa. So far more than 54 million Danish kroner (estimated 7,5 million euros) has been donated and now they can add the money from this sold gold CD to that amount.
