As rumoured before, the 2007 Ukrainian representative in the Eurovision Song Contest will be selected internally, as now revealed by broadcaster NTU. They have published regulations on the selection, although those do not provide any information on when the winner of the selection will be announced. However, ESCKaz revealed that there will be no open submission.

You can find the regulations here. The local press president of National Telecompany of Ukraine Mr. Vitaliy Dokalenko has stated the following:

"…we will collect opinions of famous people in show business who will decide the format and representative of Urkaine in Helsinki. First we need to form budget of the broadcaster and see how many things will be allocated for Eurovsion there. This will have main importance on the participation of Ukrainian candidate. If we will consider that Lordi band won last year, I personally consider Verka Serduchka suitable for the contest. She fits in the format of event. "

After internal selections in 2003 (Olexandr with Hasta lavista)and 2004 (Ruslana and her Wild dance), that resulted in a 14th place and in a victory respectively, Ukraine chose a quite difficult way of selecting their 2005 entry, icluding no less than 15 semi finals. Nevertheless, shortly before the final, four additional wild cards were revealed: Greenjolly, one of them, won the contestto achieve a 19th place on homeground with Razom nas bahato. In 2006, a talent-show style contest selected three singers to compete in the national final. No surprise that the experienced singer Tina Karol won the selection with I am your queen, a song that would finish 7th in Athens as Show me your love. Therefore, the next Ukrainian representative will be able to start in the final round in Helsinki.
