Sweden and Norway have had their respective draws decided in Geneva last week for the semi finals of the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest. The allocation, approved by the reference group, ensures a fair distribution of ticket allocations amongst the Nordic countries.

DR the national broadcaster and host of the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen had requested that SVT the Swedish National Broadcaster and NRK the Norwegian national broadcaster be allocated separate draws in the semi finals of the upcoming edition of the song contest. The reference group unanimously approved this request to ensure a fair distribution of ticket allocations amongst the Nordic countries for next year’s contest.

It was decided at EBU headquarters in Geneva last week that Sweden will participate in the first Semi-Final whilst Norway will perform in the second Semi-Final. The draw was overseen by Executive Supervisor of the contest, Jon Ola Sand, along with the EBU Media Director Annika Nyberg Frankenhaeuser and Head of Television, Bettina Brinkman.

The 2014 Eurovision Song Contest will be held on the 6th, 8th and 10th of May in Copenhagen, Denmark.
