The 1992 Eurovision Song Contest winner, Linda Martin, made a buzz last June when she performed on the popular talk show Saturday Night Show, a cover of  Get Lucky originally performed by successful French band Daft Punk featuring Pharell Williams and Nile Rodgers.

Nile Rodgers, a famous American guitarist, writer, composer and music producer who started his career in the 70’s with his band Chic, will perform in Vicar Street in Dublin in October for a series of concerts. He has collaborated in the past with superstars like Madonna, David Bowie, INXS, Duran Duran and lately Daft Punk.

After her performance of Get Lucky, Linda Martin hoped to sing the song with Nile Rodgers during one of his gigs in Dublin. An insider confessed that It’s very possible that Linda will be singing Get Lucky again. This time with Nile Rodgers. Linda Martin was severely criticised  in the Press for her cover but Nile Rodgers showed his support to Linda by commenting in the Press I saw all this stuff about my song and Linda and didn’t really know what it all meant (…) A cover version by someone is the highest form of flattery, you use someone’s song because it moves you, and there is nothing wrong with that. (…) I’ve done a lot of stuff in the past that people didn’t like so I can identify with Linda. Things will be fine“.
