Come 18th January 2007, Finland 12 points!, a brand new, fully illustrated book on Finlands Eurovision history will be released by Teos.

Asko Murtomäki, the author, is a life long fan of the contest and is currently working for YLE. The Finnish public have heard him commentate the contest on the radio numerous times.
Although Finland’s Eurovision history was never top news, still it always caused controversy and heated discussions amongst the fans. The book will be covering National Finals, the artists and their participating songs. It will include an extensive index, which will make it an invaluable source of information for any Eurovision fan.

Mr Lordi’s victory, together with Finnish record sales, has also boosted Eurovision related book production with two other titles : the authorised biography of Mr. Lordi, Mie oon Lordi and a doctoral dissertation called Erot Järjestykseen! Eurovision Laulukilpailu, Kansallisuus Ja Televisiohistoria by Mari Pajala. And we suspect we have not seen the last of this yet!

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
