Ira Losco, the 2002 Eurovision Contest runner-up , ends an extremely successful year in her career with the release of the accoustic album Unmasked. There will be an official launch party at the Axis in St. Julians, Malta.

This unplugged album includes intimate performances of her best singles so far, fresh arrangements of some 80s classics and some highly awaited original new material.

Ira said about her new album: " 'Unmasked' has been an experience where I let down my front and really delved deep into my emotions. The lyrical content is extremely personal and the musical arrangement is stripped down to enhance the beauty of the instruments in their raw form."

The magical recipe
So what can Ira’s fans expect from this new album? As the multi talented producer /writer Howard Keith says: "I firmly believe that success is a result of hard work and the determination to continue working on new projects is a result of good chemistry, passion and working with such a great artist. This album is different from all the rest and I'm quite sure it will leave its mark just like the previous ones did."

A fruitful year
Ira’s previous album Accident Prone, released in 2005, topped local radio charts with seven singles in the top five spots. The album is expected to do extremely well in this year’s Music Award ceremonies. The promising twenty five year old singer/songwriter can boast a considerable number of Awards and nominations. In 2006 she won the Bailey's Woman Of The Year Award as well as Sole Festival Best Live Act Award.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
