Denmark: Emmelie given a hero’s welcome in Copenhagen

Emmelie De Forest the 2013 Danish Eurovision winner was given a hero’s welcome when she arrived back home in Copenhagen after her victory last Saturday in Malmo, Sweden.

Emmelie arrived by bus in the majestic city of Copenhagen and rode all the way to Tivoli where many Danes were waiting to welcome her back and congratulate her. The rain and bad weather didn’t stop the Danes from attending the welcome reception at Tivoli! Emmelie treated all her fans with a special concert where she performed her 2013 Eurovision winning entry Only teardrops.

The Danes are proud and honoured that Emmelie won the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest and gave Denmark its 3rd Eurovision victory.Copenhagen went into a frenzy last Saturday night when Emmelie triumphed in Malmo at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest. Thousands of Danes gathered at Copenhagen’s Townhall Square to watch the contest on a large LED screen and celebrate their country’s triumph. 

After her victory Emmelie went to the Eurovision Song Contest After Party at Euroclub, in  Slaghauset, Malmo where met up with the other participants, media and fans and performed her winning song.

Emmelie got a chance to meet up with Swedish superstar and the 1991 Swedish Eurovision winner Carola at the Euroclub last Saturday.
