On the 30th September Miss world grand final started, and it concluded with Miss Czech Republic Tatana Kucharova wining. With the Czechs making their debut at the Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki next year, could this be an omen of success to come for the Czechs? Polish 1994 entrant at the Eurovision Song Contest, Edyta Górniak was also on hand to perform a new version of her entry To nie ja! at a welcome gala for the event. You can see the performance by clicking on the 'play' button on the image below.

Tatana Kucharova won the Miss world beauty paegent by a mix of public voting and expert jury scores. Also from Europe, Miss Romania finished 2nd and Miss Scotland and Miss Northen Ireland also did well.

A strong Eurovision connection was present with a performance by Edyta Górniak, debut Polish representative at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin, early in the week at a Dress Gala. She performed a new version of her entry To nie ja!, which finished 2nd behind the third consecutive Irish winner Rock 'n' roll kids. Perhaps the signs are good for similar good fortunes with the very first Czech Eurovision entry?
