Farid Mammadov, who will represent Azerbaijan in the second semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest tonight, Thursday 16 May, is currently to be seen on the cover of a high-profile celebrity magazine.

The 21 year-old Hold me singer is the subject of an eight-page feature in the Azerbaijani-edition of OK! magazine. In his interview with the magazine, Farid speaks about his preparations for this year’s contest in Malmö, including his promotional tour around some of the competing countries.

Among the many pictures of Farid used in the feature are a couple of his trip to Ukraine in April this year when he spent time with Zlata Ognevich, who will represent the country in this Saturday’s grand final.

Since Farid’s first rehearsal at the Malmö Arena, the young singer has moved to the joint fourth spot in the betting odds for outright winner of Saturday night’s final, according to William Hill, the world’s largest bookmaker. He shares odds on the site of 12/1 to win the competition with Russia’s Dina Garipova. The two artists are just behind Denmark, Norway and Ukraine.

Farid Mammadov will be fourth on stage in tonight’s second semi final. His appearance on stage will mark the 1,300th song performed in the Eurovision Song Contest.
