Change in Bulgarian line-up

The list of participants for the Bulgarian national final has been changed.

The song Merak was disqualified because it was released commercially before the 1st of October 2005. Initially, the song Impossible silence, sung by Mariana Pashalieva & Marin Yonchev, was selected to replace Merak but the management of Marin Yonchev withdrew the song. Bulgarian broadcaster BNT now selected the song Ljubovta e otrova for the national final.

Ljubovta e otrova will be sung by Slavi Trifonov & Sofi Marinova. They were runner-up in last years Bulgarian national final, although they refused to sing their song. The duo found the organisation of the Bulgarian Eurovision Song Contest selections terrible and it was rumoured that the winning band, Kaffe, had generated an inflated number of SMS votes by using special SIM cards. Kaffe were eventually allowed to represent Bulgaria, but failed to make it through the international semi final in Kyiv. Now Slavi and Sofi will have a second chance
