The second semifinal of Eurovision Laulukilpailu, has finished. This evening Finnish television viewers chose the following songs for the final: Kerta viimeinen, sung by Johanna Pakonen (pictured), Eternally sung by Ville Pusa and Who I am by Nina & Hanna-Riikka.

This evening, like in the seminal last week, the show was attended by Finish Eurovision stars from the past. After all, Finland celebrates 40 years at the Eurovision Song Contest this year. First to enter the stage tonight was legendary Marion Rung who sang her Eurovision entry from 1973 –Tom Tom Tom. During the break between the competing acts; Markku Aro, accompanied by his Koivistolaiset girls doing the backing vocals exactly the same way as they did back in the Eurovision 1971, and sang their entry from that year: Tie uuteen päivään.

The song by each artist with the higher number of televotes and SMS votes from the Finnish television viewers qualifies for the final.

This is the result after the second semifinal of Eurovision Laulukilpailu 2006;

Johanna Pakonen:
Kerta viimeinen – 65%
Liian monta yötä – 35%

Ville Pusa:
Eternally– 84%
Over you – 16%

Nina & Hanna-Riikka
Who I am – 67%
This is what we came for – 33%

Geir Rönning (Eurovision Song Contest 2005 and Norwegian national selection 2006 a.o.) wrote the song This is what we came for, together with his companion Niklas Rosström. The song didnt qualify but Geir Rönning managed better in Norway last week, when he qualified for the final in Norway together with Jorun Erdal and thus has a chance to reach Athens.
