Martins Freimanis acts in a movie

Martins Freimanis, Latvian musician who represented the country at the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest as one of the trio F.L.Y, is starring in a movie Man patîk, kad meitene skumst (You are sexy when you are sad). The premier of the film is on 26th August.

The movie, made in 2003 by studio Kaupo, has its opening night at cinemas on 26th August 2005. Martins Freimanis has the leading part, the role of a maniac photographer fond of taking pictures of dead people's faces in a morgue.

The story describes the experiences of seven people who are feeling lonely in a crowded city, facing failures, filled with almost wild emotions. The characters have to choose between the real, true and imaginary values in their lives. It is about passion, crime, addiction, love, and young people living in a city, their dreams and even their insanity.

Martins Freimanis and Arvids Krievs, the director of the movie, work on two common projects. Freimanis has composed the soundtrack for a documentary directed by Krievs as well as taking part in another documentary about the show business in Latvia.

Martins Freimanis is also the author of the Latvian entry The war is not over performed by Walters & Kazha, that reached the 5th place at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest.
