The Maltasong Board revealed the rules for Malta Junior Song for Europe 2005. The Board also extended the submission deadline.

Regulation number 4 says that the application must have enclosed a signed declaration from the parent or guardian of the young composer/author, demanding a “declaration from the mother and/or father of the composer/author that the song entered is original and has never been commercially released, published or publicly performed and has been written and composed by the child artist”. In case of default, the Board will disqualify the young singer from all events organised by Maltasong untill the end of 2006.

Songs for Malta Junior Song for Europe 2005, in English or Maltese, can be submitted until 16th August (noon). The selection of the songs will take place in a number of phases, depending on the amount of songs submitted. All judging phases will be communicated to UKAM who shall be invited to send a representative to be present during the judging phases. Finally, sixteen compositions shall make it to the final.

Malta Junior Song for Europe 2005 takes place on 24th September. The winner will succeed Young Talent Team, who finished 12th for Malta at last year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest with Power of a song.

The complete regulations can be found on the website of Maltasong.
