Last week the most anticipated, and probably popular, national selection across Europe kicked off in the coastal city of Karlskrona. For next Saturday’s heat, Sveriges Television and Melodifestivalen travel to Gothenburg.
8 acts will compete for two spots in the final on 9 March at the brand new Friends Arena in Stockholm. 2 more acts will qualify to the second chance round Andra Chansen, the rest will be sent home. Today the SVT revealed some details about the staging of the upcoming show to be held at the Scandinavium,
Just as last week, the team behind the Melodifestivalen prepared a unique performance for each one of the acts. Most of them will use pyrotechnics to add some extra power to the show. Other acts will have some, specially made, props to enhance their staging.
The 8 acts to compete in the 2nd heat are:
- Anton Ewald – Begging
- Felicia Olsson – Make me no 1
- Joacim Cans – Annelie
- Swedish House Wives – On top of the world
- Erik Segerstedt & Tone Damli – Hello goodbye
- Louise Hoffsten – Only the dead fish follow the stream
- Rikard Wolff – En förlorad sommar
- Sean Banan – Copacabanana
SVT will publish on their website the first snippets of 60” of the competing entries tomorrow between 13:00 CET and 19:00 CET, after the rehearsal of each act. The songs will made available almost entirely (2 minutes 30 seconds) on Saturday at 14:00 CET, just before the heat to be streamed online at 20:00 CET.
Sweden will choose their entrant to compete at home soil on 9 March.
