Three contestants of this year’s Dansk Melodi Grand Prix are currently topping the Danish iTunes chart. Emmelie de Forest and her single Only Teardrops took the number one spot after winning the Danish national final for the Eurovision Song Contest. Mohamed Ali and Simone, the two other acts of the DMGP super final are currently occupying the 2nd and 3rd positions on the chart.
In the last couple of years many Eurovision songs enjoyed commercial success and dominated various charts across the European continent. This is also the case for Denmark, the winning singles of the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix of the last four years have all placed in the top 3 of the Danish Singles Chart, the most successful being Soluna Samay’s Should’ve known better which peaked at number 1.
Emmelie de Forest’s winning single and 2013 Eurovision entry Only Teardrops has very big chances to equal Soluna’s success in the Danish Singles Chart after winning the super final of the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix last week. Her single is currently occupying the first place of the Danish iTunes Download Chart while the other two singles which competed in the super final are making the top 3.
