On 26th February Walters & Kazha won the Latvian national selection Eirodziesma with the song The war is not over. Kārlis Būmeisters and Valters Frīdenbergs already met 16 years ago at the age of two when they were accepted at the children pop group Dzeguzīte. Together with Dzeguzīte Kārlis and Valters travelled to 22 countries and visited the famous concert hall Madisson Square Garden in New York.

At the moment both boys are members of the group Putnu Balle, a project started by Mārtiņ Freimanis (Latvia 2003 – F.L.Y.) who also writes their songs and Walters & Kazha's Eurovision Song Contest entry.

Walters & Kazha, how would you describe yourself in a few words?

We are just two simple guys from Latvia who still are studying at high school. We know eachother for many years and we are good friends in our private life. We just do the normal things that normal people are doing. The guitars are our hobby.

How did it all start for you and how would you describe yourselves as artists?

At the age of two, our parents brought us to children's pop group Dzeguzite. The most important thing for us on the stage is singing.

Can you mention some important milestones in your career so far?

When we still were children and we were working together with (famous Latvian music maestro) Raimonds Pauls we used to travel a lot around Europe, the United States of America and in the former Soviet Union. But now it seems that our biggest event is the Eurovision Song Contest and the release of our first album.

What kind of music do you like??

We both like listening to rock music, Karlis for example likes Ozzy Osbourne a lot.
