RTS the Serbian national broadcaster has revealed further information and details regarding their 2013 Eurovision national selection Beosong 2013. Yesterday RTS informed Esctoday.com that their national selection will consist of 2 shows (a semifinal and final), scheduled to be held next March.
RTS has decided to have the citizens choose the Serbian representative for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest at the Beosong 2013 music festival. Serbia will participate at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. We decided that the festival should be the means of selecting this year’s Serbian representative. The citizens of Serbia will choose our representative in Malmö 2013, during the Beosong 2013 two day music festival in March next year. The Festival will be preceded by a public call for the selection of songs taking part in the Beosong 2013 competition, Duška Vučinić, head of RTS PR and press office and Executive Director of the Eurovision Song Contest Serbia announced.
The competition for the selection of songs will be published on 1 December in the daily newspapers and on the Radio Television of Serbia web site (www.rts.rs), and it will last from the day of publication until 20 January.
Duška Vučinić also revealed: In the semifinals, during the first night of the Beosong 2013 music festival, a maximum of 15 compositions will compete. The citizens of Serbia will choose the top five using SMS messages. In the second, final night of the festival, out of those five songs we will select the Serbian song for Malmö 2013. In accordance with the financial situation, we will organize and produce the Beosong 2013 music festival in an RTS TV studio, and broadcast it live.
