Chiara is currently in Greece to perform her Eurovision Song Contest entry Angel during tonight's Greek national final. We spoke with her in the lobby of her hotel, where the other guest singers are also staying. Dressed in pink, her favourite colour, Chiara was ready to answer the questions from the press.

Since televoting has been introduced, uptempo songs have won the Eurovision Song Contest. “I am not very much worried about that, because I think it's time for a change. I believe in this song very much and I hope it will do good in Kiev”, the Maltese singer said.

For the one that she loves
As the Dutch participant Glennis Grace walks in after a sightseeing tour, we asked Chiara about her song for Kiev; “Angel is about my husband, I am his angel. We are so much in love and that's what inspired me to write the song,” Chiara said. “After I participated in 1998, I was quite sure this would remain my one and only participation to the Eurovision Song Contest. But after years have gone by, I felt like I wanted to do this again”.

A better result?
In 1998, Chiara ended up third with The one that I love. Isn't she worried about the result this time? “I know people on Malta expect a good result this year, I want it too! I will give the maximum I can do, so the final result doesn't matter. At least I know I will give 100 percent, then it's up to the people who will be voting.”

Eurovision Song Contest on Malta?
The Eurovision Song Contest has never taken place on a small island like Malta. “I think that, after several good placings, Malta is finally ready to host the Eurovision Song Contest. I would love to welcome everyone at Malta”, a confident Chiara said.
