Ukrainian final moved to 23 December

NTU, the Ukrainian national final has exclusively informed and confirmed to Esctoday.com that the date of the Ukrainian 2013 Eurovision national final has been brought forward to 23 December. The initial date was 16 February. NTU has informed Esctoday.com that the 2013 Ukrainian national selection will consist of 2 shows:  A preliminary selection by juries on 22 December and the 2013 Ukrainian National Final on 23 December.

Ukraine  thus becomes the 5th country to hold its national final  in December, thus  joining Lithuania, Belarus, Switzerland and Albania.

Ukraine debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 with Oleksander Ponomaryov’s Hasta la vista. The country won the competition with their 2nd Eurovision attempt in 2004 when Ruslana gave Ukraine its very first Eurovision triumph withWild  dances, hence bringing the song contest to Kiev in 2005.  Ukraine has been competing in the Eurovision Song Contest every year since 2003 and has competed every year in the final since 2004, when the semifinal system was introduced.
