Spain changes plans again: 2 shows!

Once again, Spanish broadcaster TVE has changed the plans for their national selections for the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. On 4th March TVE will organise a semifinal with the 12 selected songs. 6 songs will proceed to the Spanish national final to be held the day after, on 5th March. The particpants list has changed again too. Felipe Conde replaces Mayka.

Carlos Lozano, Patricia Pérez and Ainhoa Arbizu will host the shows entitled Eurovisión 2005: elige nuestra canción on 4th and 5th March. The shows will be aired on La Primera at 22:45 CET.

Semfiinal with 12 songs
On Friday 4th March, the 12 songs short-listed by a team of experts will be sung. The Spanish viewers will be able to vote for their favourite song by telephone and SMS. Guest singers in the Spanish semifinal are Rosa (Spain 2002) and María Isabel, who won last year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Final with 6 songs
On Saturday 5th March, at the beginning of the second show, the final, the 6 songs that have received the most votes will be announced. Additionally,TVE will broadcast reports to see how every singer has lived the last 24 hours. The six finalists will sing their songs once again and the audience will select the winning song to represent Spain at the final of the 50th Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev.

For the final on 5th March, TVE has invited several songwriters of songs that have been send to the Eurovision Song Contest, such as Augusto Algueró, Alfonso Santiesteban, Juan Carlos Calderón, El Dúo Dinámico, Chema Purán and Alejandro Abad.

From Monday 28th February to Friday 4th March, TVE will daily present 4 songs in the morning programme Por la mañana on TVE 1. In the afternoon, both TVE 1 and La 2 will shortly pay attention to the songs.

Spain won't be the only country organising a Eurovision event on 5th March. Croatia, Romania, the United Kingdom and Norway will be holding their national final. In Switzerland Vanilla Ninja will present their song for Kiev and Sweden will be holding its last semifinal in Växjö.
