BTRC, has informed Esctoday.com that the submission period for artists and composers for submitting songs has ended today. A special jury will now evaluate all received entries and will announce the qualified acts for the semi-finals by the end of the month. BTRC has informed Esctoday.com that the semi-final is scheduled to be held on 16 November, whilst the national final is scheduled to be held on 7 December.
The selection will consist of 3 stages: a qualifying round, semi-final scheduled to be held on 16 November, and the grand final scheduled to be held on the 7th of December.
Ms Olga Schlager will be the head of the 2013 Belarusian national selection project. The semi-final and grand final will be televised live on Belarus 1 TV channel.
Artists, singers, composers and authors were invited to send in their applications to BTRC by mail to: BTRC, 220807 Minsk, ul Makaenka 9. The deadline for submission is 22 October, and thus ends today. Hence a special panel of jury members will select and evaluate all applications and will announce the names of the 15 finalists 31 October. The 2 semi-final will be held on the 16th November, whilst the grand final will be held on 7 December. The winner of the 2013 Belarusian Eurovision national final will be determined by a jury/ televoting deliberation.
Belarus debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 and is yet to win the Eurovision Song Contest. Their best placing was in 2007 with Koldun’s Work your magic.
