For the first time since the band split up in the beginning of the 80’s, all members of the legendary group ABBA appeared in public at the same occasion. Last Saturday Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus, Anni-Frid Lyngstad (pictured) and Agnetha Fältskog attended the Swedish premiere of the ABBA musical Mamma Mia.
Thousands of ABBA fans from all over the world had gathered outside the Cirkus venue in Stockholm. A red carpet had been rolled out and journalists and photographers were present to cover the event. Among the national and international celebrities attending the premiere the four members of ABBA arrived one by one.
Before the show was supposed to begin, people started believing that Agnetha Fältskog, who hardly ever appeared in public since the ABBA years, would let her fans down again. But when hysteric shouting started it became clear that Agnetha had appeared on the red carpet.
When the last song of the Mamma Mia musical was performed, Anni-Frid and Agnetha stood up and sang along. However, only Björn and Benny entered the stage to receive the applause of the audience while Anni-Frid and Agnetha left the building.
ABBA never appeared at the same public event since the split of the band in 1982. At this premiere, the members didn't look for each other, so photographers will have to wait longer for the moment when Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus, Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Agnetha Fältskog can be caught in the same picture.
