William Billy Butt is a legendary composer and producer in Sweden. This year he is involved in Lithuania and Latvia with songs for their Eurovision selections. In a special article written for the visitors of esctoday.com, he shares his thoughts and opinions about the music scene in the Baltics and Lithuania in particular. According to Billy, Lithuania will become a music nation to count on and it's only a question of time before we will see Lithuania score a victory in the Eurovision Song Contest.

As we reported earlier on esctoday.com, William Billy Butt won the second semifinal in Lithuania with Little by little, performed by the group Laura and the Lovers, a song written together with Swedish Melodifestivalen veteran Bobby Ljungren. Billy also produced the song In the heat of the night, Ksenijas entry in the second semifinal, taking place in Latvia tonight.

Billy Butt is an active observer of the music business in the Baltic States. Whilst Estonia and Latvia have had their victories in the Eurovision Song Contest, Lithuania has so far scored only minor successes in the Eurovision Song Contest. It's Billy Butts firm conviction that this is going to change very soon and Lithuania will become one of the leading Eurovision Song Contest nations. Billy has some words of advice to his colleagues in the Baltics about how they can be more successful in the future. And also why other leading Eurovision nations as for example Sweden has reason to be worried in the future.
