City of Malmö and Region Skåne have appointed Karin Karlsson as the project leader responsible for their co-operation with the Eurovision Song Contest. Karin Karlsson has for many years been the director of the popular annual Malmö Festival, that attracts over 1 million visitors to the southern Swedish city.

The organisers say the main goal is to create a wide event together with the Eurovision Song Contest that will attract many people to participate. Together with SVT Malmö and Region Skåne will create a wonderful experience around the Eurovision Song Contest.

Marie Ljung, Head of communications at Region Skåne will be the project leader responsible for making the attractions of the whole region visible during the song contest.

The Eurovision Song Contest reference group has already met once in Malmö, and the next meeting will take place in October, after which we can expect further information of the 2013 arrangement.
