Today, the Swedish broadcaster presented the three people who together with Eurovision 2013 Executive Producer Martin Österdahl will form the core team to carry the weight of organizing the contest for next May.
Christel Tholse Willers, Head of SVT Malmö since 2008 will be the Head of Relations, Johan Bernhagen the Head of Production and last but not least, Christer Björkman the Show Producer. Christer is well known in the Eurovision world not only for taking part for Sweden in 1992 but mainly for being the Head of Melodifestivalen – the most popular local selection shows – since 2002 as well as Sweden’s Head of Delegation.
Mr Österdahl is very happy with his new team as all three executives have considerable experience in the organization of TV events of all kinds and will be looking to hire more people to man the rest of the posts. Applications may be sent to [email protected].
The next Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Sweden on 14, 16 and 18th of May (provisional dates). Out of the three cities in the running to host it, Göteborg pulled out today as reported by local media due to the fact that major events such as the local Horse Show taking place in the Scandinavium in late April will make accommodation as well as preparations in the Arena an issue. So that leaves capital city Stockholm and Malmo still in the running.
