Last week, several Eurovision Song Contest related websites showed up with the story that the Turkish national final, to be held on 11th February, was cancelled and replaced by an internal selection to be held on 1st February. Completely wrong!

“I would like to inform you that this information about the Turkish national selection is completely wrong,” explains Berna Batmaz of TRT to esctoday.com. Everything remains the same, in the way esctoday.com announced it on 18th January.

The Turkish national Final will thus be held on 11th February and will be transmitted live on TRT-1 and TRT International. In this show, the seven participating songs will be evaluated by a professional jury and the song to represent Turkey in Kiev will be selected.

These are the participants in the 2005 Turkish national final:

1. Grup Ariana – Sen benim aşkımsın
2. Seçil Hüner – Rumuz andante
3. Gülseren – Rimi rimi ley
4. Nursel Efe – Tek isteğim
5. Barış – Yana Yana
6. Murat Türkücüoğlu – Saydam
7. Sedat Yüce – Yeniden

The winner will represent Turkey in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest on 21st May in Kiev.
