Croatia and Romania want to host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2006. According to our inside sources that was said during the Junior Head of Delegations meeting, which took place earlier this week in Norway.

Croatia had already applied for this year's show, after UK broadcaster ITV turned down the offer to host it. However, as the Croatian broadcaster HRT could not find a suitable venue in time, the 2004 contest will thus take place in Lillehammer, Norway. Now HRT wants to try again for 2006.

Countries can apply for hosting the 2006 show until 31st December this year. The 2005 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Belgium.

Meanwhile, representatives from Croatia and the Netherlands have joined the Junior Eurovision Song Contest steering committee.
