James Fox, who represented the United Kingdom at this year's Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbul, has pulled out of his role as Judas in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar following the sudden death of his father. Fox is taking time off the show after his father was found dead at home.

Police were called to the home of James Fox's father Ruchard Mullet, aged 56, on Monday but said his death is not being treated as suspicious. A post-mortem examination is being carried out and the coroner has been informed.

James Fox was very close to his father, who was said to have been an inspiration to his son's musical career after playing in a band. James Fox is now taking time off from the Tim Rice-Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Jesus Christ Superstar at the Birmingham Hippodrome in which he played the role of Judas.

Earlier this year, James Fox represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest, finishing 16th with the ballad Hold on to our love.
