Vatican no interest in Eurovision Song Contest

The Vatican can be found in the list of smallest countries in the world. Monaco and Andorra already took part in the Eurovision Song Contest. But what about the Vatican? Esctoday.com tried to find out the Holy See's interest! Their reaction: “not interested!”

According to the statement of Federico Lombardi, Director General of the Vatican Television Centre, “The Vatican Television Centre is not an EBU member in strict sense, because it is not a broadcaster, but only a production centre for the Vatican events. Therefore we don't have interest in the Eurovision Song Contest”.

CTV was created in 1983. In November 1996 it was officially recognized as an organization fully associated with the Holy See.

Thus, one can not expect to see the Pope giving the results of the Vatican televoting in the near future. But… who knows what the future brings?
