Victor Chandler, the bookmaker, has reported an unusually high level of activity since their Eurovision market opened on April 24 with German entry 'Can't Wait Until Tonight' one of their biggest price movers to date. A clutch of punters have helped back German singer Max down to 12/1 from an opening show of 25/1.

“I'm not a great fan of the German entry and I'll be happy to lay plenty more at our current price of 12s,” said the firm's Eurovision man Paul Moody. Greece remain Chandler's biggest liability with Shake It” proving extremely popular with the firm's Greek customers.

“We've seen a lot of support from our Greek clients and that has prompted me to cut the song from 12s to 8/1,” said Moody. Greek singer Saskis Rouvas is the firm's 8/1 favourite to bring the Eurovision Song Contest title back across the Aegean Sea.

Other well backed songs include Malta (33s to 20/1), Ukraine (25s to 16/1) and Switzerland (200s to 150/1). “The Swiss entry is now a loser for well into five figures for us though I can imagine that the cuckoos will be staying well put inside their clocks once they've heard it,” added Moody.
