Less than a week after the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 concluded, Danish broadcaster DR has started preparing the 2011 edition of their national selection Melodi Grand Prix. Just like this year, the local competition will feature one show only, to take place in February 2011.

No major changes apply to the 2011 running of the Danish MGP. Singers interested in taking part can submit their entries until September 27th. Out of all the submissions, six songs will be chosen by a secret committee. Another four artists will be invited by broadcaster DR as wildcards.

Participants must have Danish citizenship or have "corresponding, strong relationships with Denmark", i.e. having resided for a "considerable" number of years in Denmark, etc. As for the language of the entries, DR allows, in colsultation with them, compositions in any language in both the Melodi Grand Prix and the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest.

The only show to feature Melodi Grand Prix will be held in February 2011, when the 10 acts will compete for the right to represent Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest.

This year, Denmark was represented by Chanée & N'Evergreen in Oslo with the song In a moment like this, ending up in 4th place in the final.
