Jacques Houdek – the Croatian representative of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest – performed his song My friend on the Croatian music show A Strana; a show that promotes by celebrating native music.

Jacques’s duet partner was Lana Kos, an opera soprano singer, well established in Croatia. The performance was accompanied by the HRT Symphony Orchestra and the HRT Choir, which gave a more unique vibe to the song.

Who is Lana Kos?

Lana Kos, born in 1984 in Varazdin, Croatia, acquired her musical skills at the Music Academy of Zagreb.

At the age of only seventeen, she made her debut role of the Queen of the Night in Mozart`s Zauberflöte. Her international career really took off in 2011 at the Verona Festival singing Violetta conducted by Carlo Rizzi and directed by the renowned Hugo de Ana.

She has worked with the world-renowned conductors including Kent Nagano, Marco Armiliato, Nicola Luisotti, Julian Kovatchev, Fabio Luisi, Kirill Petrenko and Daniele Gatti among others.
