The votes for the fourth annual esctoday.com awards have been cast over the last three and a half weeks and now it is time to reveal the results. We continue with the Best stage effects award.

The 2009 esctoday.com Award for Best stage effects goes to…

  • …the Ukrainian team

Ukraine was represented by Svetlana Loboda, who finished sixth in the second semi final and 13th in the final with her song Be my Valentine! (Anti-crisis girl).

  • You can find the list of all award results revealed so far this year here.

The winner

This is the first esctoday.com Award for Ukraine this year and the eighth award overall following victories in the category Performance of the year in 2006, 2007 and 2008, Best female performance in 2006 and 2008, Best preview video in 2008 and Best dressed act in 2008. The Best stage effects award was given out for the first time this year.

The Ukrainian stage is probably best remembered for the large cog structure, which became known as "hell machine". The background images featured laser-like effects that changed various times throughout the performance.
