Anna Mjoll: An Icelandic jazz diva in California

Next November 5 evening, Anna Mjoll, the 1996 Icelandic entrant, will give two sets in one of California's most famous jazz venues, The Baked Potato in Studio City, a district in the San Fernando Valley region of the city of Los Angeles.

Jazz Station, Arnaldo DeSouteiro's blog, reports: "Anna Mjoll is the new female Michael Buble. That's the talk of the town in the music bizz. She toured with Julio Iglesias for years, sang with Michael MacDonald and composed for Christopher Guest's latest movie. Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder and Chick Corea love her. She is by far the best jazz singer ever to come out of Iceland (aka Björkland). With that airy sultry voice that Julio fell so hard in love with, she will be singing standards for us and chances are we will fall just as hard as Julio, for the magnificent sound someone called the voice of God".
