TVP, the Polish broadcaster have announced the rules for the country's preselection for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Oslo on 25, 27 and 29 May. Poland will be following once more the previous years' formula with one national final.

Depending on the quality of the songs submitted to TVP, a number of five to ten acts will take part this year in Krajowe Eliminacje, the Polish final to be held on 14 February in Warsaw. TVP follows the same formula used in previous years for Piosenka dla Europy with one significant difference, foreign artists will not be welcome this year. The deadline for the submissions of the songs by local artists is 2nd November.

More information can be found here (in Polish).

Very special thanks to Szymon Stellmaszyk of OGAE Poland for the information.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
