A-ha have ruled out singing for Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest on home ground next year. In an interview with the BBC, he also reveals that he know's Alexander Rybak well and is concerned about how he will be looked after after such a sharp rise to fame.

The norwegian band became an international success in 1985, the year of Norway's first victory and lead singer Morten Harket co-hosted the show in 1996. The band are launching a big comeback with a ninth studio album and international tour, but confirmed to the BBC that they will not enter the Eurovision Song Contest.

Morten Harket, who turns 50 in a few weeks, spoke about Eurovision Song Contest winner Alexander Rybak in the interview. Asked about his opinion of Norway's third winner of the competition, he said: "I know the guy quite well, he's very musical, upbeat and young at heart. I'm curious to know how well they're going to look after him as he's been thrown in at the deep end."

Ending any hopes of A-ha entering the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, Morten was asked: You were Eurovision co-host when it was last staged in Norway in 1996. Would you consider it next year? He replied: "No. Back then, I thought it might be good for me to be a presenter, which is a different focus to being in a band."
