The first semi-final of Söngvakeppnin 2017 has just concluded, and Iceland have chosen the first three acts who will participate in the final on 11 March.
Tonight saw the first 6 acts performing their entries live to the public for the first time. The entries were performed in Icelandic in tonight’s show, with tonight’s qualifiers being given the opportunity to perform in a language of their choice in the final of the selection.
The qualifiers were determined by 100% televote, and are:
- Rúnar Eff Rúnarsson – Mér við hlið
- Aron Hannes Emilsson – Nótt
- Arnar Jónsson & Rakel Pálsdóttir – Til mín
This means that we say goodbye to Hildur, Júlí Heiðar Halldórsson & Þórdís Birna Borgarsdóttir and Erna Mist Pétursdóttir.
