Nuška Drašček competed in EMA in 2006 and 2009, while comedy singer Tim Kores Kori participated in 2015.
Nika Zorjan finished third in the Slovenian national in 2012, but also competed as backing vocalist for Tinkara Kovac in 2014 and Maraaya in 2015.
Omar Naber represented Slovenia in Kyiv before in 2005. His self-penned song Stop did not qualify for the final. Omar has tried again to compete for Slovenia in 2009, 2011 and 2014.
BQL are managed by Raay from Maraaya (Slovenia 2015), and Raiven finished second to ManuElla in EMA 2016.
Slovenia were represented by ManuElla with Blue and red in the Eurovision song contest 2016, who finished in 14th place with 57 points in the second-semi final, which meant she did not qualify.
