Tonight: Eurovision: You Decide in the United Kingdom

Tonight’s the night which sees the United Kingdom select their act for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest, the winner of which will fly to Kyiv this coming May for the competition.

Tonight’s show

Hosted by Mel Giedroyc, Eurovision: You Decide will take place live at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, London from 20:30 CET (19:30 local time).

This evening will see a total of 6 acts battle it out for the right to represent the United Kingdom at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest, with each of the entries having been revealed earlier in the week via the BBC Radio 2 show The Ken Bruce Show on Monday.

Regardless of whoever wins this evening’s national final, it’ll be the first time since Andy Abraham in 2008 that a former X Factor participant will represent the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Not only will the 6 participants be performing for the votes of the public, but they will also have to earn the points from the 8-member jury panel who will decide 50% of the final vote.

Three members of the jury panel were revealed last week and will be given the opportunity to voice their views during the show; Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Bruno Tonioli and CeCe Sammy.

Special guests

The British national broadcaster, BBC, has revealed that a total of 2 special guests will perform in tonight’s show; Eurovision 2009 winner Alexander Rybak who will perform his winning entry Fairytale, as well as British pop-band The Vamps performing their song All night.
