The annual MAD Video Music Awards in Greece, which honour the year’s biggest achievements in music, will take place tonight. The show, which is broadcasted in Greece, as well as in Cyprus and Bulgaria, will feature many Eurovision stars and surprises.
Sakis Rouvas will open the concert while Anna Vissi will perform in the event after an absence of seven years. Poli Genova, Bulgaria’s repesetnative for Eurovision 2011 and 2016 and Eleni Fouriera, who rocked Greece last summer with a cover of Israel’s entry Golden boy, are also among the confirmed artists.
The biggest surprise of the evening with be Helena Paparizou, the winner of Eurovision 2005 and no less than 24 MAD Video Music Awards, that will perform this year’s Russian entry You are the only one with Sergey Lazarev himself.
Traditionally, the show is not transmitted live but recorded and broadcasted later on. This year’s show will be broadcasted on 17 July on Alpha TV in Greece.
