The 2016 Aussie Eurovision representative Dami Im was given a hero’s welcome in her hometown Logan where she was honored for her amazing 2nd place at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm.

Dami Im was invited to her former school John Paul’s College in Logan, Queensland where she was honored for her Eurovision performance and was given a special award. She received a hero’s welcome in her hometown, where both students and public eagerly awaited for the Aussie superstar.

Dami Im made Australians proud when she took the Eurovision stage earlier this month and achieved an honorable 2nd place at the 2016 ESC in Stockholm. She won the jury vote and narrowly missed out on belting the Grand Prix.

Her Eurovision entry Sound of Silence has become a massive hit both in Australia and overseas, charting high in most of Europe.

Australia competed at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2016 for the second time and nearly won the event. The Aussies debuted in the competition last year with Guy Sebastian, who placed 5th in the grand final in Vienna.

I checked on Australia’s ARIA singles charts
& her esc song ”Sound Of Silence” on its 2nd week dropped very much
from #5 to down to #25! Well it makes sense as this is the fate for all the songs of EuroVision.
Rarely a esc song meets big success on the music charts.

Her covers album though ”Classic Carpenters” on its 5th week
surprisingly climbed even higher moving from the #10 up to #9 on the ARIA album charts

It must feel great for her to be on the spotlight these days in her country Australia
after her almost win & 2nd place in EuroVision.
I guess that she must be rather popular now and everywhere she goes
people will look at her & ask her for autographs & take selfies
    photos with her.

Her song ”Sound Of Silence” might not be so good as song
but at least I’m not bored of listening to it on repeat.
It is very catchy & amusing song to listen on the radio or in a bar.
It works as ideal backround music for people to listen to.
It has something special that has you hooked to keep hearing it.
It definitely deserved its marcel esc award.

The EuroVision Album CD peaked on #9 in Australia.
On its 3rd week it had dropped from #9 down to #20.
It went on #2 in Switzerland!! On #3 in Austria!
Also on #9 in the UK in category with the albums compilations charts.
On #30 in Norway, on #31 in Finland & on #81 in France.

I read today on GSN that
AUSTRALIA at last will gonna legalize gay marriages finally by the end of this year! 🙂

  • MarioVision

Was really time about that to happen
as Australia is one of the most gay friendly & best countries for a homosexual to live/visit!
I wonder why it took them so long before legalizing gay marriage in their country..
