Tonight, the second semifinal of the Spanish selection for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest took place. Ten acts presented one song each. Three of them were chosen by a mixture of jury vote and televote to proceed to the final, scheduled for the 7th of March. The fourth placed song will enter the second chance round.

The following acts made it to the national final:

• Soraya – La noche es para mí
• Virginia – True love
• Jorge González – Si yo vengo a enamorarte

• Salva Ortega – Lujuria

The results of the poll which asked the esctoday.com readers about their favourite act tonight perfectly matched the top-3 positions of the second semi. Soraya won our poll with an overwhelming 76.3% of the vote, followed by Virginia with 6.3% and Jorge González (5.6%). Salva Ortega, who placed 4th and therefore will have another chance before the final, only managed to reach 6th place in our poll.
