LIVE

The show starts with a dance performance to a medley of classic Eurovision hits.

1. Dejan Trifunovski – Ljubovta doaga

Current poll result: 2.8% (=6th)

We start with a pop song that has lots of la la las at the beginning. The music is rather catchy yet not very outstanding and it gets very repititive after a while, despite a clima towards the end. The vocals are pretty week and the facial expression of the singer very distracting. The dance performance is half-hearted and so is the reaction by the audience. Obviously not a favourite tonight.

2. Stefan Cvetkovski – Zemi sve

Current poll result: 0% (=14th)

The second song tonight is a rather tuneless ballad with no high recignition value. The singer seems not to feel at ease on stage and the vocals suffer a lot from that fact. Probably no qualifier tonight.

3. Jasmina Dimitrovska – Na moe mesto

Current poll result: 7.0% (3rd)

A dramatic strings arrangement was chosen for this ballad and it works well with the song, even if it is slightly over-the-top. The singer delivers strong vocals for this entry and the overall performance works very well on stage.

4. Filip Jordanovski – Volsebnik

Current poll result: 2.8% (=6th)

The third male soloist tonight presents another ballad. The vocals are stronger than those of his two predecessors and ther overall performance more professional. The song has a nice melody, but it is probably not special enough for the Eurovision Song Contest.

5. Vlatko Ilievski – Najbogat na svet

Current poll result: 0% (=14th)

The net song is a guitar ballad that manages to create a very nice campfire atmosphere on stage. The laid-back style suits the singer very well and he delivers a charming and authentic performance with strong vocals. However, history has shown that songs in that style often do not very well in national selections.

6. Venera – Povtorno ljubena

Current poll result: 1.4% (=11th)

Venera presents a ballad with a rock and blues theme. The vocals are very strong and the overall style of this song very interesting and different for the Eurovision Song Contest. Generally a song that might appeal more to the jury than to the televoters.

7. Patnici – Nasmej se

Current poll result: 2.8% (=6th)

A straightforward pop song with some ethnic elements and very interesting arrangement. With the overly classy outfits, they obviously try to create a visual effect that does not work with the song and is not even needed.

8. Aleksandar Belov – Sastano solzi izbrici

Current poll result: 15.5% (2nd)

Another ballad. The melody is catchy nd the songs comes across well, but it could definitely need some more work if it qualified for Moscow. The performance is very professional and suits the entry perfectly.

9. Kaliopi & Naum – Rum dum dum

Current poll result: 49.3% (1st)

Dramatic outfits and a dramatic performance. The style of the song, which mainly faces on the percussions, is very interesting, even if the "rum dum dum" parts get a bit repetitive after a while. If it went to Moscow, this song would probably split the Eurovision community, but it could be very popular with the juries.

10. Amir Ibraimovski – Otvori go srceto

Current poll result: 2.8% (=6th)

A rather strong pop/rock song in a Balkan style that works well on stage. However, it might get lost in a field with many songs in that genre.

11. Bravo – Devojiko

Current poll result: 2.8% (=6th)

A strong vocal performance is delivered for this catchy song. The melody is memorable and this might well be a qualifier tonight.

12. Vlatko Lozanovski – Bliski do mene

Current poll result: 4.2% (5th)

A rock ballad now. The performance is rather strong, even if the singer is struggling with his vocals once in a while. A possible, but not definite qualifier tonight.

13. Pampersi – Zboguvanje

Current poll result: 0% (=14th)

This song is rather tuneless, an impression that might be caused by the very shaky vocals. The performance is straghtforward but nothing special. Maybe not a qualifier tonight.

14. Rock Agresori – Ding dong

Current poll result: 1.4% (=11th)

Interesting boy scout outfits were chosen for this performance. It is not sure if this is supposed to be comedy or art, but the song obviously lacks some special moments to instantly appeal to the voters.

15. Nade Talevska – Dali mislis na nas

Current poll result: 1.4% (=11th)

A very professional composition with a long instrumental intro that features a synched dance routine. THe vocals are strong and this song is in a very classical Eurovision style mixing pop music with ethnic flavours, but it might need some more work to make it more outstanding.

16. Kristijan – Nema da zboram

Current poll result: 5.6% (4th)

The contest closes with a pop ballad. The melody is catchy and the vocals are emotional and strong, although the singer seems to be a bit insecure on stage. Nevertheless, this entry might easily qualify for the national final.
